The 22nd of May 1994 will long remain in the memories of everyone associated with Clonmel Town, because on that day we captured the blue ribband trophy, the Holy Grail of Junior clubs in Ireland, the FAI Junior Challenge Cup. On that beautiful sunny afternoon in Tipperary Town, we totally outplayed, outwitted and outclassed our opponents New Ross Celtic on the perfect sod of Cooke Park to romp to a 5-1 victory. Who will ever forget the performance of the players that day. The team then managed by Martin Quinlivan who at the tender age of 28, many could argue could of still be being playing, lead his troops to the Nations top prize while at the same time almost had the perfect season winning 40 out of 41 games. Their only defeat coming in the Munster Junior Cup Final at the hands of Mungret Regional 2-1. In this section you can see pictures and relive that fantastic day.

It was no secret that we celebrated our achievements for a long time and in fairness who wouldnt blame everyone. A song which will always be remembered as the '94 Club Song and to this day is still fondly remembered and sang in the Local Bar by regular chanters like Nailler, Babba and PJ is Rock And Roll Kids which was the song Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigen sang at the then popular Eurovision Song Contest which Ireland won that year. To a tribute to that 1994 era the song is now available to download in mp3 format. Just Right Click and select Save Target As, then click Save. You must have Windows Media Player or Winamp to play this song. If you have Broadband, it should take 1-2 minutes to download this song, if you are using Dial-Up then it will take quite longer.
